Fitbit Versa’s Screen Wake feature allows users to set their trackers to automatically turn the screen on with a turn of the wrist. This is a pretty good feature as you only have to activate it by a single movement. However, some users are complaining that their trackers no longer wakes the screen if they turn their wrist. Such problem could be pretty minor or it could be something that concerns the hardware itself. Continue reading as I will guide you on how to troubleshoot your Fitbit Versa that has issues with its screen wake function.
Before we move on, if you are looking for a solution to a different problem, make sure you drop in on our Fitbit Versa Troubleshooting Page for we have already addressed some of the most common issues with this tracker. Browse the page to look for issues that are similar with yours and if you can’t find anything that could help you or if you need further assistance, feel free to fill up our questionnaire so we can help you.
Now, going back to our troubleshooting, here are the things you need to do if your Fitbit Versa Screen Wake function no longer works...
- Make sure Screen Wake was not accidentally disabled.
- Restart Fitbit Versa as it might be just a temporary glitch.
- Factory Reset your Fitbit Versa to fix the problem.
There’s a setting where you can enable Screen Wake on your Fitbit Versa and more often than not when this feature does not function, it’s because it’s disabled. So, press and hold the left button for a couple of seconds to go to quick settings. From there, you can find “screen wake” which you can turn to auto or manual. Choose the former, of course.
Another thing you might also need to do is the simple restart of the tracker especially if the device was working properly before this problem started. You can do this by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. Once the tracker has rebooted, try to see if Screen Wake works properly this time because if not, then you have no other choice but to reset it.
A factory reset is needed when the first couple of procedures failed to fix the problem. It will delete all your personal settings, configuration and apps but will also bring it back to its factory defaults. This may fix the problem but if not, then you should bring it back to the store or shop so that a technician can check it up for you. The easiest way to reset it is by going to Settings > About > Factory Reset.
