How To Fix Call Of Duty Warzone Memory Error 13-71 | Xbox

Many Xbox One gamers still encounter memory error 13-71, even after Activision has supposedly fixed the problem. Without providing any official tips from them, we assume that the issue is server-related although it’s likely not totally eliminated at this time. The good news is that there are workarounds that might just fix this error relatively easily.

In this article, we’ll show you possible solutions for this error. Check them out below.

What happens when there’s Error 13-71?

Gamers of either Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone reported Memory Error 13-71 a few months back and continues to affect some PS4 and Xbox One consoles until now. This error shows up after a console has finished attempting to load the game. They then have the option to either play the game in offline mode, or close it.

The error started showing up in many consoles after a gamer had been added to a Regiment. Others mentioned that they were added to a Regiment without their knowledge and that’s when the problem started.

Causes of Call Of Duty Warzone Memory Error 13-71

Memory Error 13-71 is clearly a glitch in the game and not within a console. Activision already announced that the issue is fixed, although some unlucky users continue to experience it.  This means that this problem is on the server-side of things.

Because the game appears to trigger the error when joining Regiments, which is the title’s in-game clan system, try to avoid Regiments for now. If you’re getting the error and you’re already a member of a Regiment, try to see if leaving it works.

How to fix Call Of Duty Warzone memory error 13-71?

So what’s the best way to fix Call Of Duty Warzone error 13-71? Well, since there’s no official solution from Activision at all, we only have workarounds for you. These solutions do not guarantee that it will work on your end as some gamers find a certain solution ineffective but the next one as working for them.
Below are some of the fixes that we’ve rounded up for you.

  1. Use a different Xbox Live account.

Many users, including me, find this solution working at first try. What you need is a new account so you can create a new gamertag. Once you’ve done that, open multiplayer. Then, press the Xbox button, move to the left until you can see your old gamertag (which is associated with the memory error) and switch to your old gamertag. Afterwards, leave the Regiment you are part of in the Social menu of the game. The game should then work normally afterwards.

  2. Disable Crossplay and leave a Regiment.

If the first workaround is not working for you, the next possible solution that you can try is to trick the game by turning off Crossplay first, then turning it back on. So, when on the game and getting the error 13-71, press the B button to select offline. Then, open account settings, find Crossplay, disable it, and go back to the main menu. Try playing online again and once you get the error that Crossplay feature must be enabled, back out. Go to Social menu, leave your Regiment, then enable Crossplay under Settings again.

  3. Delete saved game data.

This solution works for some gamers. Some Xbox games may not work properly if their game data is corrupted. Try deleting your Warzone game data to see if that will help.
To delete a saved game data on Xbox One:
-From Xbox Home, go to Settings.
-Go to System and select Storage.
-Select Manage storage on the right-hand side of the screen, then select View contents.
-Highlight a game, press the Menu button, and select Manage game.
-Select Saved data on the left-hand side of the screen.
-Choose a game to access the game’s saved data.
-From here, use the Options Menu to delete files or to view more information about a specific file.

  4. Delete and re-install Warzone.

This is a more drastic potential solution. We can’t guarantee that it will work on your particular case but if none has helped, it may be worth a try. Keep in mind that redownloading Warzone may take some time as the installation file is huge. Do this solution only if the problem has been going on for days already.
