Charging by wire is such an antiquated technology. We’ve been using this method for years, and for all sorts of devices. There’s nothing inherently wrong with wires, but they can be pretty frustrating and obtrusive. They charge devices up really quickly, and they’re great for transferring data between smartphones and computers and likewise; however, over time, they have a tendency to destroy your phone’s USB port. After plugging a wire in and out hundreds of time, that slowly damages your port, and eventually you run into charging problems. That’s why technologies like wireless charging have become so handy.
